Sierra Ferrell has hinted at a brand new collaboration with her fellow alt-country favourite, Zach Bryan.
On Wednesday evening, Sierra posted a playful photo across her socials accompanied by the tantalising caption, ‘Workin on a song with @zachlanebryan ! To be continued !’
As of yet, it's unclear whether this duet will feature Sierra Ferrell as the lead vocalist or whether Sierra will be guesting on a Zach Bryan song. Given the fact that Zach has never appeared on another artist's track before, we expect the new collaboration will be one of his.
Zach is currently recording the eagerly awaited follow-up to his widely acclaimed 2022 album, American Heartbreak, and it seems he's been much more open to collaborating than he has been previously, which has seemingly opened the door for this Sierra link-up.
On all of Zach Bryan's studio albums so far - not including his Summertime Blues EP and his 2022 live album - there have been no guest features. The Oklahoma songsmith released his celebrated collaboration with Maggie Rogers, ‘Dawns’, in January 2023, with the evocative single due to appear on the new project's tracklist.
That duet has been championed by fans for its haunting, ethereal vocals and the way Zach and Maggie complement one another - something that would also undoubtedly be on display should Sierra Ferrell and Zach Bryan join forces for a new track.
In addition to this potential collaboration, in the past few weeks Zach has teased a captivating demo featuring The War and Treaty, which is also expected to appear on the ‘Something in the Orange’ hitmaker's new album, Writers and Fighters. Zach has since posted a studio shot of a recording session with The War and Treaty, so it looks like this will be a definite inclusion on the tracklist.
If we get a new Zach Bryan record that includes both The War and Treaty and Sierra Ferrell - along with Zach's frequent collaborator, Charles Wesley Godwin, rest assured it'll be a very, very happy Holler HQ.
