When you have a song that virtually took over an entire genre, you best believe that you'll more than likely get a few nods from the pinnacle of musical success.

Shaboozey, the fun loving, good time having singer-songwriter than feels like he practically popped out of thin air in 2024, has earned an astounding five nominations at his first ever Grammy Awards, putting him alongside top nominees Beyoncé (11), Charli xcx (7), Billie Eilish (7), Kendrick Lamar (7), Post Malone (7), Sabrina Carpenter (6), Chappell Roan (6) and Taylor Swift (6).

Four of these nominations come thanks to his breakout, blockbuster hit, 'A Bar Song (Tipsy),' which has broken several records and made its fair share of history since its release in April of this year. Topping the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart for a record-matching 16 non-consecutive weeks, the song has attracted an innumerable group of fans from across genre lines as Shaboozey as further helped cement country music's place in the mainstream music arena.

Interpolating J-Kwon's 2004 anthem, ‘Tipsy,' Shaboozey's 2024 smash earned Grammy nominations for Best Country Solo Performance, where he will look to beat out tried and true torchbearers like Chris Stapleton, Jelly Roll, Kacey Musgraves and Beyoncé, as well as Best Country Song, which sees the same group of nominees aside from Stapleton, who is replaced by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen. Similarly, 'A Bar Song' also sees a nomination for Best Remixed Recording for its revamped David Guetta version.

Most notably, though, Shaboozey and one of the rightful Songs of the Summer earn a coveted spot in two of the Big Four categories, which honor the best of the best without any genre distinctions, with 'A Bar Song' being included in the contenders for Song of the Year, alongside Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift & Post Malone, Chappell Roan, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter and Beyoncé.

Similarly, the Virginia native also finds his name among the nominees for Best New Artist. He'll be battling it out against fellow hitmakers like Benson Boone, Doechii, Chappell Roan, Khruangbin, Raye, Sabrina Carpenter and Teddy Swims.

The only peer-voted music award, the 67th Annual Grammy Awards will once again take place at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena on Sunday, February 2, 2025. The show will broadcast live on CBS and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
