Shaboozey's long-teased track, ‘Blink Twice’, has finally been given a release date, with the viral anthem arriving this Friday (April 11th). Excitingly, as well as telling us when the track is dropping, the ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ hitmaker has also revealed that ‘Blink Twice’ is actually a collaboration with British folk prodigy, Myles Smith.
The duo were photographed in Europe back in March while Shaboozey was this side of The Pond for his tour, with fans speculating at the time whether a duet might be on the horizon.
Now, when you click on the official pre-save link for ‘Blink Twice’, you'll see Myles Smith listed as the featured artist, with the ‘Nice to Meet You’ crooner's unexpected involvement ensuring the sense of anticipation is through the roof ahead of Friday's release.
Shaboozey and Myles Smith's genre-blending styles fuse together seamlessly on ‘Blink Twice’, with the duo exploring rousing, folk-leaning textures across the wistful new track.
It finds Shaboozey crooning mournfully, “Hanging onto hope / I'm losing grip of time and space / My mind is running circles over something I can't change / I've loved, I've tried / No-one told me when in Rome / Am I feeling all the feelings? / Or am I just going numb?”
‘Blink Twice’ feels cut from the same cloth as Shaboozey's previous release, ‘Good News’, which also found the ‘Last Of My Kind’ trailblazer delving into a folkier ambience compared to the Western-inspired and Hip-Hop-infused sound of his earlier material.
Myles Smith, on the other hand, has always been grounded in this folk-pop world, with his break-out hit, ‘Stargazing’, and his follow-up smash, ‘Nice to Meet You’, cementing the UK chart-topper as a future star of the genre. Smith dabbled in country music earlier in 2025 when he released a revamped version of ‘Nice to Meet You’ with Lainey Wilson, and now that he is joining forces with Shaboozey, fans will be wondering whether the up-and-comer is plotting a full-blown country project.
