Big Loud's CEO and Partner, Seth England, has shed some light on the fascinating process behind the creation and marketing of Post Malone and Morgan Wallen's blockbuster, chart-topping 2024 smash, ‘I Had Some Help’, in a new interview.

Excitingly, as well as delving into the meticulous rollout for the momentous crossover single, which kicked off Post Malone's long-awaited F-1Trillion era, England revealed Posty and Morgan penned seven songs during their first ever studio session together.

In a conversation with Variety, Seth England shared, “I’ve been friends with Tyler and [Post Malone’s manager] Austin Rosen for a very long time now. When Post told his team he wanted to make country music, we were their first call...[I got a] text from the studio on night one saying they had just written nearly seven full songs...”.

He expanded by emphasising how this is not a regular occurrence, “Getting to be behind the scenes, you learn how rare it can be for it to flow that quickly. So, after they wrote so many ideas on the first night, I knew the whole project could become exciting quickly”.

We've known for some time now that Post Malone and Morgan Wallen wrote more than one song during their sessions together, which also involved Nashville heavy-hitters such as ERNEST, Charlie Handsome, Chandler Walters and Ashley Gorley, with Posty sharing on Theo Von's This Past Weekend podcast that they have a second collaboration up their sleeve that was too experimental for F-1Trillion.

When chatting with Theo Von in September, Post Malone appeared to confirm that they recorded that second track, “We cut another song too...I think I remember doing a verse, it was one of those long nights...!” before stressing, “That song's awesome too. I don't know if he's gonna do anything with it, but I remember it being awesome. I was having a lot of fun. We were just all together, [Chandler Walters] was there and [ERNEST], it was just killer. I love writing songs with my buddies”.

However, even in our wildest dreams, we didn't imagine there would be seven potential Post Malone and Morgan Wallen collaborations - almost an album's worth - on a laptop somewhere. Given Seth England's comments about the seven tracks being “nearly” completed songs, this implies some of these were merely incomplete demos.

Nonetheless, with Morgan Wallen currently working on his eagerly anticipated One Thing At A Time follow-up album, which is expected to arrive in 2025, we're keeping our fingers crossed that one of these Post Malone collaborations ends up making the cut.

Elsewhere during the Variety piece, Mercury Records President, Tyler Arnold, explained how he'd been trying to get Post and Morgan to hit the studio together for a long time prior to making it happen, “I had worked with both of them for years leading into the collaboration, and it was something we had always wanted to do. But it just came down to timing. While they didn’t write ‘I Had Some Help’ on that trip, Post and Morgan started their creative relationship in the studio”.

Arnold went on, “I met up with Post and Morgan in Nashville the night they made the song, and I remember hearing it for the first time. We were all so excited and could feel that this one was special. It was probably the best rollout I’ve ever been a part of”.

With ‘I Had Some Help’ spending six weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and cementing itself as one of the most popular songs of 2024, it feels like Post Malone and Morgan Wallen managed to capture stardust and exceed the lofty expectations fans had set when they first learned they were working together. Could they have bottled up this magic a second - or third, fourth or seventh - time? If anyone can, they can.
