Sam Hunt has earned his first ever Diamond certification for his record-breaking 2017 anthem, ‘Body Like a Back Road’, in recognition of the single going ten-times Platinum.
In doing so, Hunt joins a coveted group of musicians to have a Diamond song in their repertoire, with just over 100 songs in history having received the prestigious certification.
Upon its release, ‘Body Like a Back Road’ soared to the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, with the sultry, beat-driven track then spending 34 consecutive weeks in the top spot.
Until Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha's streaming behemoth, ’Meant To Be’, usurped it the following year, ‘Body Like a Back Road’ held the title as the longest-running No. 1 on the chart.
Post Malone holds more Diamond-certified hits than any other artist, with the genre-blending ‘Congratulations’ songsmith possessing eight tracks that have achieved the impressive milestone.
Following Posty is Bruno Mars with six, while only a select group of other artists have amassed multiple Diamond certifications, including Justin Bieber, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and more.
Last month, Luke Combs picked up his first ever Diamond certification for his now-iconic love-song, ‘Beautiful Crazy’, but the North Carolina megastar is yet to achieve a Diamond-certified album. Garth Brooks still leads the way on this front, with a staggering nine albums having reached Diamond status. The closest artist behind Garth is The Beatles, with six Diamond-certification albums to their name.
Sam Hunt is currently readying his first full-length project since 2020's SOUTHSIDE, which featured ‘Body Like a Back Road’. The new album is expected to include the Georgia native's recently released singles, ‘Women In My Life’, ‘Outskirts’ and ‘Walmart’.
