Luke Combs has earned his first ever Diamond certification for his much-loved 2018 ballad, ‘Beautiful Crazy’. The now-iconic track, which appeared on Luke's This One's For You Too album, remains one of the North Carolina hitmaker's most recognisable songs to date.
‘Beautiful Crazy’ was certified nine-times Platinum back in March, putting Luke Combs on the verge of the coveted Diamond certification, which recognises a song moving the equivalent of ten million units. Now, ‘Beautiful Crazy’ has officially surpassed that impressive milestone.
Heartwarmingly, Luke Combs was surprised with the plaque during a showcase in Nashville ahead of his electrifying CMA Fest 2023 performance at Nissan Stadium on Thursday evening.
‘Beautiful Crazy’, which was penned for Luke's now-wife, Nicole, tells the rose-tinted tale of falling in love with someone's various quirks and endearing eccentricities. Luke wrote ‘Beautiful Crazy’ for Nicole before the two had even started dating, and the six-week No. 1 hit went on to become their first-dance song at the couple's wedding in 2020.
There are just over a hundred songs in history that have been certified Diamond, and it seems Luke Combs will soon have two other chart-toppers joining that prestigious list of anthems.
A couple of his more uptempo offerings, ‘When It Rains It Pours’ and ‘Hurricane’, both of which featured on his debut album, This One's For You, recently went eight-times Platinum.
Given the fact that these high-octane earworms remain two of the go-to country anthems for any Friday night soundtrack, it surely won't be long before Luke Combs has a trio of Diamond songs.
‘Beautiful Crazy’, which was co-written by Luke Combs, Rob Williford and Wyatt Durrette, remains a staple of the country megastar's setlist. Fans across the US, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark and more are eagerly looking forward to getting the chance to hear it performed live later this yeaer on Luke's 2023 world tour.
