Riley Green has confirmed his long-awaited track, ‘Rather Be’, will be released on streaming platforms tomorrow (Friday, July 26), with the light-hearted song expected to lead the rollout for his brand new album, which is expected to arrive in the Fall.
Taking to his socials, Riley surprised his fans with the news of his next single accompanied by the artwork, featuring the ‘Jesus Saves’ singer-songwriter leaning against a bar.
The Alabama crooner has been occasionally including ‘Rather Be’ in his live setlist for over a year, with fans clamouring for Riley Green to make it available, but fearing it had been discarded onto the hefty heap of unreleased tracks in Riley's catalogue.
Thankfully, though, we'll soon be able to listen to the full version of ’Rather Be’, with Riley Green seemingly accelerating the rollout of his Ain't My Last Rodeo follow-up album.
Riley Green confirmed to Holler earlier in the year that he's recording the new project and eyeing up a Fall release date, and we're hoping previously teased tracks such as ‘Tailights’, ‘Til You Gave One’ and ‘Keep Comin’ Around’ all make their way onto the tracklist.
It extends a prolific streak from Riley Green, with the ‘Damn Good Day to Leave’ hitmaker releasing his acclaimed Way Out Here EP in April and his sophomore album, Ain't My Last Rodeo, in October 2023. While the details surrounding the new record are still under wraps, one thing's for sure - it's a damn good day to be a Riley Green fan.
