As if we needed any reminder, Riley Green is reaffirming his country boy way of life with his latest release.
The 'Different 'Round Here' star has shared a sauntering rendition of Josh Thompson's 2010 opus, 'Way Out Here.'
"We don't take a dime if we ain't earned it," the Alabama native sings in the chorus, now toned down under his tutelage. "When it comes to weight, brother, we pull our own / If it's our backwoods way of livin’ you're concerned with / Well you can leave us alone / 'Cause we're about John Wayne, Johnny Cash and John Deere / Way out here."
The single marks Green's first official release of the year and follows his acclaimed 2023 album Ain't My Last Rodeo. Whether 'Way Out Here' bears hints of more new music to come is not yet known, but this year has seen the artist off to a good start.
In January, he teased fans with a snippet of an unreleased song, titled 'I Couldn't Fit That On A Sign.' Judging by the stellar acoustic version, it's poised to be a doozy of a track.
The new year has also witnessed the musician garner his third Country Radio No. 1 alongside fellow-sensation Luke Combs, their anthem ‘Different ‘Round Here’ soaring across the airwaves.
Green is currently in the midst of his Ain't My Last Rodeo Tour, in support of his last full-length release. The headlining trek will take him across North America through the spring and much of the summer. In between those dates, Green will host his inaugural Duckman Jam weekend-long festival, set to take place in Pensacola, Florida.
