During the first of his momentous two-night run at Nashville's iconic Ryman Auditorium, Oliver Anthony was treated to a surprise appearance from Randy Travis.
The country legend emerged on stage during Oliver Anthony's set, with the ‘Rich Men North Of Richmond’ up-and-comer visibly moved by Randy Travis’ show of support.
Anthony took to his Instagram stories to share a photo of the moment he got to meet Randy Travis, accompanied with the tongue-in-cheek comment, “Never washing my hand again!”
Unfortunately, Randy Travis, who suffers from aphasia as a result of his severe stroke in 2013, is no longer able to perform the hugely popular, hit-filled sets he used to due to his condition, but that hasn't stopped him from regularly attending shows.
In 2023, the ‘Forever and Ever, Amen’ chart-topper made appearances at Zach Bryan and Lainey Wilson shows, with Zach and Lainey toasting the North Carolina icon.
Oliver Anthony is currently in the middle of his sprawling Out of the Woods world tour, which has so far taken him across Ireland, the UK, Sweden, Norway and more. After completing his Ryman double-header, the Virginia native has shows lined up in Florida, Mississippi, Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Illinois and more.
Oliver Anthony is gearing up to drop his highly anticipated debut album, which is expected to feature previously shared tracks such as ‘I Want to Go Home, ‘Ain't Gotta Dollar’ and ‘90 Some Chevy’. The project is yet to be given an official release date, but Anthony confirmed to fans he'd starting recording it back in January.
