After months of speculation, teasers and surprise pop-ups in Nashville, Post Malone has gifted fans the news we've been waiting for - the name and release date for his country album.
The project, which is set to be called ‘F-1Trillion’, will drop on August 16th, meaning we only have to wait another couple of months before we can hear the blockbuster record.
Post Malone announced the news in trademark Posty fashion, renting out a colossal Nashvillle billboard which reads, “The name of the new Post Malone album is F-1,000,000,000,000”.
As we highlighted earlier in the week, some fans had already discovered the new album title, with a Post Malone merchandise t-shirt being spotted at his Bonnaroo Festival set last weekend with the words, “‘Pour Me a Drink’ is a song featuring Blake Shelton on Post Malone's new album, F-1,000,000,000,000” emblazoned on the front.
‘Pour Me a Drink’ is due to arrive on streaming platforms this Friday, June 21st, with Posty and Blake Shelton delivering a momentous live debut of the playful track during CMA Fest 2024.
Towards the end of 2023, Post Malone revealed during a Twitch live stream that he's been working on two distinct albums, one of which is his long-awaited country record.
Although his latest announcement didn't specify whether F-1Trillion is the country project or the other album, the fact that the Bonnaroo tee outlined that ‘Pour Me a Drink’ will be featured confirms that his August release will indeed be his country album.
The name F-1Trillion is a play on one of the most beloved trucks in country music, the Ford F-150, with the aesthetic of Post Malone's billboard - and even the ‘I Had Some Help’ single artwork - all nodding towards 4x4-themed imagery. Posty drives a sleek, customised variation of the Ford F-150, called the Ford VelociRaptor.
In addition to the electric Blake Shelton link-up, F-1Trillion is expected to include ‘I Had Some Help’ with Morgan Wallen, which has just notched a fifth straight week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The record is also set to feature a high-profile contribution from North Carolina megastar, Luke Combs (‘I Ain't Got A Guy For That’). With an unexpected appearance at Nashville's iconic Bluebird Café this week and now the album announcement, Post Malone has timed his rollout to perfection, with the sense of anticipation sky-high ahead of August 16th.
