Post Malone's Austin Post Apparel fashion brand has released a new array of trucker caps, with the six-hat collection being constructed around Post's love of Americana culture.
The brand new range is billed on the official website as a versatile combination of typical Austin Post Apparel styling and “original graphics inspired by Americana and life on the road”. All six caps feature “structured foam fronts, tall crowns, and pre-curved brims, finished with mesh panels and adjustable snapback closures”.
The six caps include a multitude of Western-themed graphics, many of which revolve around a classic country saying, which builds on Austin Post's much-loved God Bless range.
The caps include phrases such as “American Spirit”, “Loud Sounds”, “God Bless” and “Hightail It”, along with two staple brown and black caps with simple Austin Post branding.
The price-point is set at $68 (£52). This might initially feel high for a standard merchandise cap, but in reality, it aligns with Austin Post's standing as a designer brand. We should perhaps be comparing the prices to streetwear brands like L/AB Off-White and Fear Of God Essentials, rather than country merchandise items.
For instance, there are numerous high-fashion-inspired items on Austin Post Apparel that cost many hundreds of dollars, along with a leather trucker jacket priced at $1,365.
This caused a stir with fans of Post when Austin Post first dropped, and while the prices do feel high for what feels like a line inspired by Wrangler and Carhartt, it's not unsurprising given how the brand is trying to position itself as a meeting-point between streetwear and Western-wear - capturing Post's own genre-fluidity.
While there's not enough of a unique, streetwear-infused twist on these trucker caps to make us want to buy one, with most of them feeling awfully similar to a simple Walmart trucker, we're still hopeful that Austin Post will take a few more risks in 2027 and establish itself as more than just a much more expensive version of Wrangler.
