Post Malone delivered an emotional performance on Saturday night (October 19th) in Nashville, Tennessee, marking the ‘I Had Some Help’ hitmaker's first ever stadium show.
Given the New York native's penchant for collaborations and his track record of bringing out fellow artists when in Music City, attendees were wondering which country stars might be joining Post Malone during his blockbuster Nissan Stadium show.
Ultimately, though, Posty decided to let the spotlight fall deservingly on him for the vast majority of the set, rather than dazzling the crowd with an array of high-profile duets.
There were only two surprise acts on Saturday, with one being Post Malone's good buddy, Blake Shelton, who teamed up with Posty for a playful rendition of their feel-good hit, ’Pour Me a Drink’, which has notched a second week at No. 1 at Country Radio.

However, Blake was arguably outshone by Post Malone's other guest, Winter, a 14-year-old girl who delivered an endearing, intricate take on his beerbongs & bentleys ballad, ‘Stay’.
Post Malone introduced her to the crowd, “Winter's gonna help me play a song tonight, ladies and gentlemen”, with Winter then saying hello to her mom and sister. It was a sweet moment that captured the familial, good-natured atmosphere of Posty's live shows, which are always peppered with heartwarming, motivational speeches and pleas for those in the audience to know how loved they are.
As has been the case throughout Post Malone's journey into country music over the past year or so, there was a distinct sense that each member of the Nissan Stadium crowd was rooting for Posty. This came to the fore when the ‘Guy For That’ crooner paused to thank those in attendance and celebrate the fact that this was his first ever show in a football stadium. The sea of over 60,000 ticket-holders proceeded to cheer and chant ‘Posty, Posty’, leaving him on the verge of tears. It felt apt that he had reached this milestone in Nashville, the home of country music.
Elsewhere during Post Malone's performance, he paid tribute to the late great Toby Keith with a stellar rendition of ‘Wish I Didn't Know Now’. Posty has covered Keith on a number of occasions in recent months, but the significance of this night and the grand stage made it all the more moving as he navigated the evocative track.
Later on in the set, Post Malone performed the song that, in many ways, started his country career, ‘I'm Gonna Miss Her’ by Brad Paisley. Three years ago, at Matthew McConaughey's ‘We're Texas’ benefit concert, Posty threw a curveball at fans by delivering a stunning cover of Brad's light-hearted break-up anthem. It was that spellbinding performance that, for a slew of listeners, first sewed the seeds of expectation that Post Malone would one day record a country album.
Now, the ‘Circles’ singer-songwriter heads to Texas for four more shows as part of his F-1Trillion tour, with Post Malone expected to announce international dates in the coming weeks.
