March has already been a big month for country music releases, but Parker McCollum is continuing full-steam ahead as he gears up to drop his new album, Never Enough, on May 12.
The Texas crooner revealed on his socials that the next single from the record will be ‘Speed’, and that he'll be making it available everywhere on Friday, March 10.
The ‘Pretty Heart’ hitmaker has been teasing a range of unreleased demos over the past few months, such as ‘Tails I Lose’, ‘Hurricane’, ‘Lessons From An Old Man’ and more.
However, fans are yet to hear any snippets or clips of ‘Speed’, which has only served to heighten the sense of suspense leading up to the song's release on Friday.
The singles from Never Enough that McCollum has released so far run in a similar vein to the heartbroken, whiskey-drenched sound he leaned into on 2021's Gold Chain Cowboy.
‘Stoned’ strips back the production and lowers the tempo, following in the footsteps of older fan-favourites such as ‘I Can't Breathe’, while ‘Handle On You’ and ‘I Ain't Goin’ Nowhere’ find McCollum shifting through the gears and delivering two high-energy, easy-listening anthems.
The announcement of ‘Speed’ follows the release of McCollum's heartbreaking music video for ‘Rest Of My Life’, which movingly explores a man's struggles with substance abuse.
It remains to be seen whether ‘Speed’ will also receive accompanying visuals, but either way, McCollum's fans are eagerly awaiting the chance to hear the new track for the first time on March 10.
