Noah Kahan has been posting about a brand new collaboration for a few days now, and the mysterious guest vocalist has now been revealed as chart-topping megastar, Post Malone. The track was given an official release on Monday, July 17 at 8pm ET.
Post Malone features on a revamped version of Noah Kahan's hit single, ‘Dial Drunk’. After hinting at the duet for a while, the country-folk prodigy has thankfully now made the Post Malone-assisted remix of ‘Dial Drunk’ available everywhere.
The news arrived after much teasing from the Vermont native, who recently shared the artwork for the new track, with the featured artist's name blurred out.
Rather pointedly, Post Malone commented on the post with a tantalising ‘eyes’ emoji, which confirmed many fans’ suspicions that Posty has teamed up with Kahan.
Strengthening this growing consensus was a cryptic video Kahan posted to TikTok earlier in the week, which included a snippet of the ‘Dial Drunk’ remix. The newly added vocals contained Posty's signature rasp, but aside from this, the on-screen lyrics also featured a series of capital letters sprinkled throughout in a seemingly random order.
On closer inspection, eagle-eyed fans deduced that the capitals spell out the name ‘Post Malone’, which meant this blockbuster collaboration was all but officially confirmed. Now, the conjecture has been put to a stop, with Kahan unveiling the new single across all platforms.
Noah Kahan is often nicknamed ‘Folk Malone’ by listeners, with the up-and-coming country-folk singer-songwriter even Tweeting his gratitude at being likened to the ‘rockstar’ hitmaker.
Kahan has risen to prominence in the alt-country and folk scene in recent months, with the rising star having earned a slew of deserved plaudits for his 2023 project, Stick Season.
The original version of ‘Dial Drunk’ has blossomed into Kahan's most recognisable song to date. With the added star quality and sonic electricity that Post Malone always brings, it seems this new remix will consolidate Noah Kahan's ‘next-big-thing’ status.
