On a star-studded evening of momentous performances, euphoric victories and electric surprises, Noah Kahan and Kelsea Ballerini's genre-fusing duet proved one of the 2024 ACM Awards highlights, with the artists linking up for a beautifully intricate set.
Fans were curious as to what song the two chart-toppers would decide to perform, with some speculating a new collaboration might be around the corner. Although not a new song, Noah Kahan and Kelsea Ballerini delivered something even better - a medley of two of their most celebrated tracks, ‘Stick Season’ and ’Mountain With A View’, the latter of which appears on Kelsea's Grammy and ACM-nominated Rolling Up With The Welcome Mat record.
With Kelsea Ballerini kicking off the performance reclining on a sofa and showcasing her sleek, sinuous sound on the vulnerable ’Mountain With A View’, before Noah took the lead with a captivating rendition of his monster hit, ‘Stick Season’.
Then, as Kelsea joined Noah on his stage, the duo cleverly interpolated ’Mountain With A View’ as they approached the conclusion of the momentous performance.
When the jam-packed roster of performers was unveiled, Noah Kahan and Kelsea Ballerini undoubtedly stood out. With Noah hailing from the folk and Americana space and Kelsea exploring an R&B-tinged country sound during her Rolling Up The Welcome Mat era, we wondered how these worlds would coalesce.
However, any fears or doubts were allayed when the duo stepped onto the Ford Center stage together, their voices combining seamlessly for a stunning medley.
Other performers on the packed 2024 ACM Awards line-up included Cody Johnson, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, Post Malone, Nate Smith and Avril Lavigne and more. The star-studded ceremony returned to the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas for the second year in a row, with Reba McEntire taking the helm for the 17th time.
