Morgan Wallen's monster 2023 hit, ‘Last Night’, has become the first song in history to accumulate one billion on-demand audio streams in the US in a single calendar year.
It's an impressive feat for the Sneedville megastar, especially given the fact that we're only seven months into 2023 so far, and ‘Last Night’ was not released until the last day of January.
As well as breaking this streaming record, ‘Last Night’ has also become the best-selling song of 2023 so far in terms of US units, outpacing Miley Cyrus’ viral hit, ‘Flowers’.
‘Last Night’ recently notched its thirteen week atop the Billboard Hot 100, with the hugely popular track - which appears on Wallen's 2023 One Thing At A Time album - now being the longest-running No. 1 country song in the chart's history.
With Luke Combs’ much-loved Tracy Chapman cover, ‘Fast Car’, slotting in behind ‘Last Night’ on the Hot 100, Wallen and Combs ensured they became the first two country artists to take the No. 1 and No. 2 positions on the Billboard Hot 100 since 1981.
The album that spawned ‘Last Night’, One Thing At A Time, continues to break records of its own, with the sprawling, 36-song project now holding the title of the longest-running No. 1 album of the decade. In addition, last week Morgan Wallen's blockbuster opus became the only album ever to sell over 100,000 units per week for 17 weeks.
Morgan Wallen is currently in the middle of his globe-trotting One Night At A Time world tour, with the ‘You Proof’ hitmaker recently delivering two packed-out shows in St. Louis, Missouri. Wallen is now gearing up for a double-header in San Diego, California, before he takes his ever-expanding arsenal of chart-toppers to Phoenix, Arizona.
