Morgan Wallen's 2021 opus, Dangerous: The Double Album, has been crowned Billboard's Top Album of the 21st Century, with the ranking based on Billboard 200 data since 2000.

It's a colossal achievement from the Sneedville megastar, with Dangerous beating out competition from other iconic, globally revered albums such as Adele's 21, Taylor Swift's Fearless, the Hamilton soundtrack, Ed Sheeran's Divide and more.

While this is a hugely significant moment, both for Morgan Wallen and country music as a whole, it does not come as a shock, given how Dangerous has held its own on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart for a staggering 208 weeks and counting.

By the end of 2024, Dangerous had tallied 158 weeks in the Top Ten of the Billboard 200, with just one other album surpassing this total - the beloved original cast recording of My Fair Lady, which spent 173 weeks at the business-end of the chart from 1956-60. It's of course possible Dangerous will overcome this number in 2025.

Since the 30-song project dropped almost exactly four years ago, on January 8th, 2021, Dangerous has blossomed into one of the most celebrated country albums in the genre's history.

At the time of writing, Dangerous sits at No. 15 on the Billboard 200, and still enjoys immense popularity today. What's more, the widely lauded record still holds the title for the most weeks spent at the peak of the prestigious Billboard Country Albums chart.

Morgan Wallen's Dangerous follow-up, 2023's One Thing At A Time, has also made its way into Billboard's Top Albums of the 21st Century ranking, landing at No. 6. When you bear in mind the fact that One Thing At A Time has had less than two years of tracking factored in, it makes its inclusion in this list all the more impressive, particularly when comparing it to albums that were released at the start of the century.

This new chart accolade arrives off the back of Morgan Wallen being named at No. 13 on Billboard's Top Artists of the 21st Century ranking, with Taylor Swift taking the top spot.

Elsewhere on Billboard's newly unveiled Top Artists of the 21st Century, country is represented extensively. Aside from Taylor Swift's country albums, such as Fearless, which slots in at No. 3, Carrie Underwood's Some Hearts features at No. 19.

Additionally, there are inclusions for Chris Stapleton's Traveller (No. 30), Luke Combs’ This One's For You (No. 35) and What You See Is What You Get (No. 44), Kid Rock's Rock N Roll Jesus (No. 49), Lady A's Need You Now (No. 51), Florida Georgia Line's Here's To The Good Times (No. 54), Luke Bryan's Crash My Party (No. 71), Rascal Flatts’ Me and My Gang (No. 74), Jason Aldean's My Kinda Party (No. 88), The Chicks’ Home (No. 89) and Noah Kahan's Stick Season (No. 95).
