Fans had suspected that Morgan Wallen might have a big announcement up his sleeve for his momentous double-header at Knoxville's Neyland Stadium - and, excitingly, they were right.

During a star-studded set, the Sneedville megastar finally confirmed the release date for his long-teased song, ‘Love Somebody’. Thankfully, we don't have long to wait, as the uptempo, heartbroken track will be made available to stream on October 18th.

The song's arrival appeared to be inching closer when Morgan Wallen unexpectedly added the unreleased track to the setlist for his 2024 European leg earlier in the month.

When introducing ‘Love Somebody’ at Neyland Stadium, home of Morgan's beloved Tennessee Volunteers, the ‘Thought You Should Know’ singer-songwriter seemed relieved to be able to give his loyal fans the news they'd been patiently awaiting.

Striding across the stage in front of over 70,000 attendees, Morgan shared, “I can finally tell you this song is coming out October 18th”, before the stadium erupted into a sea of cheers.

Elsewhere during Morgan Wallen's hit-filled performance, which was kicked off by his signature walk-out alongside the 2024 National Champion Volunteers baseball team, the ‘Last Night’ crooner treated the fervent audience to a surprise duet with Eric Church.

Rather than joining Morgan for their 2023 One Thing At A Time collaboration, ‘Man Made A Bar’, Church emerged for a beautifully stripped-back rendition of ‘Quittin‘ Time’. The evocative album cut appeared on 2021's Dangerous, and was co-written by Church.

Morgan Wallen also teamed up with his buds HARDY and ERNEST, the openers for both of Morgan's Neyland Stadium shows, for ‘Up Down’ and ‘Cowgirls’ respectively. In addition, Morgan and ERN serenaded the crowd with a brief snippet of ‘Flower Shops’.

Giving the evening an extra sense of lustre was the remarkable fact that Morgan Wallen was becoming only the fourth artist in the venue's 103-year history to play at Neyland Stadium, joining Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney and The Jackson 5.

Morgan Wallen returns to Knoxville's Neyland Stadium on Sunday, September 22nd. After a raucous first night, fans will be hoping Morgan keeps the momentum high for his second show. During the opening show, for instance, he added ‘Talkin’ Tennessee’ and a recorded version of the Volunteers’ anthem, ‘Rocky Top’, into his setlist.

Ticket-holders for night two will be keeping their fingers crossed he decides to perform ‘Had Me By Halftime’ and ‘Tennessee Fan’, both of which explore love stories that pivot cleverly around a Tennessee Volunteers match. Perhaps, if we're lucky, Morgan will even follow up his ’Love Somebody’ announcement by unveiling his new album...
