For many, when the clock strikes midnight on All Hallows’ Eve and they start to take down the fake cobwebs and rubber spiders, their attention immediately turns to one thing: Christmas.

It seems Megan Moroney is one of those people, as the Georgie singer-songwriter is gifting us an early festive present tonight - two brand new songs and a cover of ‘Blue Christmas’.

They arrive as part of Megan Moroney's debut Christmas project, playfully titled Blue Christmas... duh, which will be made available to stream on Friday, November 1st. Moroney's eagle-eyed New Zealand fans have been making the most of the time difference, and have already started enjoying Blue Christmas... duh Down Under.

Despite only being three tracks long, it's a vibrant, textured project that serves as yet another example of why Megan Moroney is being heralded as a future Entertainer of the Year winner.

Alongside an irresistible, steel-soaked cover of Elvis Presley's festive 1957 staple, ‘Blue Christmas’, Megan Moroney's unexpected Blue Christmas... duh EP features two new tracks, ‘All I Want for Christmas is a Cowboy’ and ‘Christmas Morning’.

The two original offerings capture the ‘Tennessee Orange’ crooner's ability to deliver a heartbreak anthem, while still feeling as though she's singing with a twinkle in her eye. ‘All I Want for Christmas is a Cowboy’ is a jovial, tongue-in-cheek earworm that finds Moroney begging Santa for a new Carhartt-adorned, Stetson-donning present on December 25th, while ‘Christmas Morning’ is a more sombre, introspective ballad in the mould of ‘No Caller ID‘, ‘Hell of a Show’ and ‘28th of June’.

It continues what's been a busy year for the ‘Am I Okay?’ hitmaker, with Megan Moroney dropping her sophomore album of the same name to widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike, as well as touring across the US, Canada, UK and Europe throughout 2024. Later in November, Moroney will release her take on Brooks & Dunn's ‘Ain't Nothing ‘Bout You’ as part of the legendary country duo's Reboot II album.
