It looks like Megan Moroney Season is fast approaching, with the Georgia native taking to socials to share an intricate, unreleased song snippet that seems to be titled, ‘Table for Two’.
Excitingly, in the caption for ‘Table For Two’, Megan Moroney has hinted that this is our first preview of her keenly anticipated third studio album, sharing, ‘for MM3’. There's no release date yet for either ‘Table For Two’ or Moroney's Am I Okay? follow-up, but the fact that the ‘Tennessee Orange’ hitmaker is already hard at work on the project suggests we might - if we're Lucky - get to hear the record later in 2025.
‘Table For Two’ finds Megan Moroney deftly exploring the conflicting feelings that can arise after a fresh break-up, with the ‘Am I Okay?’ singer-songwriter addressing her old flame directly as she croons warmly across a bright, upbeat instrumental, “I know I shouldn't, but I wanna / So I might, and if I do / Is now a bad time to let you know that / I kinda still love you / I've got nothing to do, and nothing to lose”.
The new clip arrives as Megan Moroney earns her first ever Top 50 hit on the US Hot AC Radio chart, with her infectious anthem, ‘Am I Okay?’, continuing its surge in popularity.
Sonically, it's classic Megan Moroney, with the 2024 CMA New Artist of the Year infusing her trademark playfulness, wit and conversational tone throughout ‘Table For Two’.
Even so, the sun-soaked, boat-themed video Megan Moroney has used to accompany this new ‘Table For Two’ teaser has fans wondering whether we can look forward to seeing Kenny Chesney's influence on Moroney's forthcoming project.
As Megan Moroney plays the ‘Table For Two’ snippet from the deck of a boat, viewers can see the sun sinking into the ocean, with a trio of yachts silhouetted in the background.
It's certainly very Kenny Chesney-esque, and given how Moroney and Chesney have endearingly become close friends following their expansive 2024 Sun Goes Down run of stadium shows together, we're hoping the duo might have a duet up their sleeve.
When Moroney took home her 2024 CMA New Artist of the Year gong, for instance, Chesney shared a heartfelt message of congratulations via socials, “Congratulations to Megan Moroney on your big win last night. We are all so happy for you and proud to watch you stand up there last night like a star that you are. This is just the beginning!! We love you Megan!!!” Moroney responded, “KENNY IM GONNA CRYYYY😭 you’re the best thank you for everything always LOVE YOU!!!!!!”
We'll have to wait and see whether Megan Moroney and Kenny Chesney have managed to find time to hit the studio together, but either way, it thankfully looks like there's another stellar full-length project from Moroney approaching on the horizon.
