Lainey Wilson has taken to socials to share a touching homage to one of her country music idols, Dolly Parton, with the two exchanging words ahead of the 2023 CMA Awards.
When the ‘Watermelon Moonshine’ hitmaker linked up with Dolly Parton, it seems the latter imparted some cherished nuggets of advice. Given the fact that Lainey appears en route to emulate the success and stardom that Dolly has enjoyed, the nine-time 2023 CMA Awards nominee will have undoubtedly appreciated her guidance.
Alongside the heartwarming photos of the two country greats, Lainey Wilson underlined in her caption, “Dolly. A real life doll. Passing along real life wisdom. What a way to start CMA week”.
Last month, Lainey Wilson and Dolly Parton joined forces for a special rendition of The Judds’ 1984 classic, ‘Mama He's Crazy’, with the blockbuster duet being championed by many as the best track from the acclaimed 2023 tribute record.
Lainey Wilson is widely expected to return from Wednesday's CMA Awards ceremony in Nashville with a plethora of accolades, with some tipping the Louisiana native as their favourite for the most coveted gong of the evening - Entertainer of the Year.
In order to do so, Lainey will have to overcome a tough challenge from the 2023 victor, Luke Combs, along with one of the most dominant figures in modern country music, Morgan Wallen.
