Lainey Wilson is the latest country star to offer their rendition of a Rolling Stones classic. The Bell Bottom Country singer-songwriter has released her version of ‘You Can't Always Get What You Want’.
The song is set to feature on the upcoming Rolling Stones tribute album, Stoned Cold Country, which will also feature covers by Brothers Osborne, Elle King, Ashley McBryde and more.
Over the course of the 7-minute song, Lainey incorporates her trademark twang and a refreshing sense of countrified flair into the classic hit.
There are arguably only a handful of artists with the charisma it takes to navigate the innumerable ebbs and flows of ‘You Can't Always Get What You Want’, and it's safe to say Lainey is one of them.
‘You Can't Always Get What You Want’ joins the other already-released tracks from Stoned Cold Country, ‘It's Only Rock ‘N’ Roll (But I Like It)’ by Brothers Osborne and The War and Treaty, along with Elvie Shane's take on ‘Sympathy for the Devil’.
The project has been composed as Nashville's 60th Anniversary tribute to the iconic UK band, and boasts a star-studded cast that includes Eric Church, Maren Morris, Brooks & Dunn, Zac Brown Band and more.
Stoned Cold Country, which will feature Lainey's colossal ‘You Can't Always Get What You Want’ and has been produced by Music Row's Robert Deaton, is due to arrive on streaming platforms on March 17.
