Lainey Wilson has been crowned the 2025 ACM Awards’ Artist-Songwriter of the Year ahead of the highly anticipated ceremony in Frisco, Texas tonight (Thursday, May 8th).
The ‘Bell Bottoms Up’ singer-songwriter was surprised with the coveted accolade while spending time with two fellow country icons, Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire, ahead of their blockbuster performance during the 2025 ACM Awards ceremony.
The trio are debuting their new single, ‘Trailblazer’, at the event, with Lambert and McEntire presenting Wilson with the ACM Artist-Songwriter of the Year gong during rehearsals.
In the comments section of the ACM Awards’ official Artist-Songwriter of the Year Instagram announcement, the ‘Heart Like a Truck’ hitmaker has expressed her gratitude for the coveted accolade, gushing “This is such an honor, thank you ❤️”.
Lainey Wilson had to overcome competition from Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, HARDY and ERNEST to take the 2025 Artist-Songwriter of the Year crown, which celebrates those who have cemented themselves as leading songsmiths and entertainers.
Lainey Wilson will also be vying for the most prestigious award of the evening, ACM Entertainer of the Year. The Louisiana native won last year, but with Morgan Wallen being victorious in the 2024 CMA Entertainer of the Year category in November and a stacked list of candidates, it's looking too close to call at the moment. The 60th ACM Awards will air live at 8e|5p via Amazon Prime Video.
