"Where's 'Casamigos'?" That seemed to be the main question surrounding the release of Koe Wetzel's latest record, 9 Lives, this past July. Well, it seems that question has just been answered.
The 'Sweet Dreams' star will drop the long-awaited tequila-fueled ballad this Friday (Sept. 13).
The news comes by way of a recent Instagram post, which Wetzel simply captioned, "Casamigos this Friday," alongside stills from what appears to be the set of a music video.
'Casamigos' was originally slated to appear on Wetzel's 9 Lives. Ahead of the collection's official release, the song was listed as its third track. Somewhere along the way, though, the tune was replaced by a cover of XXXTentacion's 'Depression & Obsession' without a word of explanation.
Soon after the album's release, the artist appeared on an episode of the Reid and Dan Isbell-hosted podcast, God's Country, on which he regaled listeners with debaucherous tales, hunting stories and even offered a brief performance of the long-teased 'Casamigos'.
The artist will christen the release of 'Casamigos' with a stop in Camdenton, Missouri on Friday, as he continues his Damn Near Normal tour across the United States. The trek will take him through the fall, tackling the arenas and amphitheatres of North America before setting his sights for Europe and the United Kingdom.
