Kenny Chesney has treated fans to another preview of his hotly anticipated 2024 album, BORN, which is now set to arrive a week earlier than initially planned on March 22, 2024.
The newly unveiled song, ‘Thinkin’ Bout’, explores a notably different ambience to the other already-released tracks from BORN, as Kenny tussles with the temptation of falling back into the arms of an ex-lover, despite knowing it'll only lead to more heartbreak.
The push-and-pull tension that underpins the simmering, slow-burning ‘Thinkin’ Bout’ will transport fans back to the headspace of Kenny Chesney's hugely popular ballad, ‘You and Tequila’, which he released alongside Grace Potter in 2010.
As well as gifting listeners this new song, which joins the anthemic, galvanising ‘Just To Say We Did’ and the sweet, rose-tinted ‘Take Her Home’ on the upcoming album, the Knoxville hitmaker has excitingly shared the official tracklist for BORN.
The 15-song record will feature unreleased songs such as ‘Few Good Stories’, ‘The Way I Love You Now’, ‘Wherever You Are Tonight’, ‘Long Gone’, ‘Top Down’ and ‘Guilty Pleasure’.
It looks like Kenny will thankfully reprise his much-loved role as country music's designated summery, nautically inspired pirate for a number of songs on BORN, judging from titles such as ‘One More Sunset’, ‘Blame It On The Salt’ and ‘One Lonely Island’.
Speaking ahead of the release of ‘Thinkin’ Bout’, Kenny shared, “I love this song because it gets into that space where you’re thinking about knowing you shouldn’t think about that person, and that’s when maybe the letting go can really start to happen. For anyone struggling with moving on, ‘Thinkin’ Bout’ is for you”.
After the release of yet another stellar offering from BORN, ‘Thinkin’ Bout’, it's safe to say we can't wait for full project to be made available. Although originally slated for a March 29th drop, Kenny Chesney has seemingly decided to move the release to March 22nd, meaning we'll get to hear the new songs a week earlier.
