Kelsea Ballerini has announced a brand new collaboration with country-folk chart-topper, Noah Kahan. The duet, ‘Cowboys Cry Too’, is set to arrive this Friday (June 28th).

The official unveiling arrives after Kelsea Ballerini teased that something was on the horizon with Noah Kahan via a series of Instagram photos, including an image of a pair of boots she mailed to Noah alongside a note reading, “Hey...you a cowboy yet?”, to which the Vermont native pointedly replied, “Nah I cry too much”.

This, it turns out, was a hint at the title of their new single, ‘Cowboys Cry Too’, which will seemingly explore the vulnerable, emotional and under-represented side of the stoic, macho characters that drive the classic, mythologised stories of the Wild West.

The new collaboration follows Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan's momentous medley of Kelsea's ‘Mountain With a View’ and Noah's ‘Stick Season’ at the 2024 ACM Awards.

Ever since that moment, fans have been clamouring for the two to hit the studio and drop an original duet - and now, thankfully, the time has come for the star-studded link-up we've been hoping for. Given the deeply personal, evocative songwriting styles that both Kelsea and Noah have become synonymous with, their respective sounds will no doubt coalesce seamlessly for an enchanting single.

Kelsea Ballerini accompanied her ‘Cowboys Cry Too’ announcement by confirming this is the first taste of new music from her forthcoming album, which does not yet have a title or release date. The ‘Penthouse’ hitmaker shared that she's “so proud and excited to release this first song in a new chapter of music”.

With this marking Kelsea Ballerini's first original solo release since the deluxe version of her lauded Rolling Up The Welcome Mat record in August 2023 - not counting her much-loved revamped version of ‘Love Me Like You Mean It’ in April 2024 - ‘Cowboys Cry Too’ has been a long time coming, but we're sure it'll be worth the wait.
