The Grand Ole Opry has long been the flag-bearer of tradition in country music.

However, at the same time, the Opry has also built a reputation for its ability to constantly evolve and and remain relevant to modern country music audiences.

The Opry's unveiling of a brand new stage epitomises this willingness to change with the times, with its incorporation revamped barn design with new lighting features, along with a special ‘halo’ visual effect around the iconic Opry circle.

On Saturday night, the new stage was christened by a chorus of ‘Will The Circle Be Unbroken’, performed by Jon Pardi, The War and Treaty, The Oak Ridge Boys, Ricky Skaggs, Kat & Alex, Mandy Barnett, Rudy Gatlin, Mark Wills and Don Schlitz.

Jon Pardi also treated the audience to a solo set during Saturday night's much-loved Opry Live show.

Those in the crowd were able to enjoy various upgraded video and lighting features as part of this.

The new updates to the Opry stage serve as the first significant set alteration in around two decades, with the last major changes being introduced for the Opry's 75th Anniversary in 2000.

Numerous high-profile artists will get to grace the new stage in the coming weeks, with performances lined-up for Ernest, Lady A, Carly Pearce, Chase Rice and more.

In addition to this, country prodigies Charles Wesley Godwin and Megan Moroney are set to make their eagerly awaited Opry debuts on February 10 and February 11 respectively.
