Jelly Roll has taken to TikTok to tease an imminent announcement regarding new music, with the ‘Need a Favor’ hitmaker confirming he's about to unveil “the biggest album of my life”.
After revealing the exciting news, Jelly Roll was endearingly candid about his lack of confidence with social media promotion, asking his followers to be patient with him as he tries to engage and bring as much awareness to his new project as possible.
Jelly explained, “What's up, TikTok! It's your favourite fat person - or one of them I'm sure, I hope, at least - I'm coming to y'all hat in hand here and just being honest, man”.
He expanded, “I'm not really good at social media, but I'm fixing to announce the biggest album of my life, an album I have dedicated literally 18 months to writing, and because of that I'm gonna be all over TikTok, dude. I'm gonna try it! So y'all, please, I'm asking y'all personally to come on this journey with me - and don't make fun of me if you see my fat ass dancing on here doing the Cha Cha Slide or something to one of my songs. I'm just trying to create awareness for this new album”. Jelly's wife, Bunnie XO, amusingly commented, “I wanna see this dance you speak of”.
The Tennessee native admitted that he can't look past how integral the platform is for the rollout of his new project, “I have come to the conclusion the only way this album is gonna do good is if TikTok gets behind it. I am coming here blatantly asking for support, y'all, and I hope I don't annoy the fuck out of y'all, but man, I'm about to start posting, dude! Love you, TikTok - announcing the album soon”.
Jelly Roll has already dropped the two lead singles from his new record, the deeply vulnerably ‘I Am Not Okay’ and the fiery, introspective ’Liar’, both of which have proven hugely popular across social media. These tracks have ensured expectations remain sky-high ahead of Jelly's sophomore country album, following his lauded debut country record, Whitsitt Chapel, which arrived in June 2023.
Given the name of Jelly Roll's 2024 tour, Beautifully Broken, which launches on August 27 in Salt Lake City, Utah, some suspect this could be a hint as to the title of the new album.
