Jelly Roll delighted the crowd at Faster Horses Festival in Brooklyn, Michigan by bringing out up-and-coming artist, Anne Wilson, to sing with him for his chart-topping duet, ’Save Me’.
Anne Wilson gave the hugely popular track, which was recorded alongside Lainey Wilson for Jelly Roll's lauded 2023 album, Whitsitt Chapel, an additional injection of soul, with the ‘Strong’ singer-songwriter showcasing her powerful vocals during the performance.
Given the Kentucky native's background in the Contemporary Christian scene, her involvement gave ‘Save Me’ an extra sense of gravitas, with Anne accentuating the message of hope and salvation that underpins the rousing, vulnerable ballad.
The crowd roared their appreciation when Anne Wilson walked onto the stage, with the fast-emerging singer-songwriter also receiving a notable message of approval from Lainey Wilson, who commended Anne's performance of her parts of the song.
The Bell Bottom Country megastar took to the comments on Anne Wilson's TikTok video of the duet to share her admiration for her friend and ‘Praying Woman’ collaborator, sharing, “My Wilson girl. Love you. Keep on shining that LIGHT like you do”.
It seems Jelly Roll's decision to bring Anne Wilson out with him was a late one, with Anne offering an insight into the backstage rush as she got ready for the momentous duet.
In the video, Anne expresses her excitement after receiving the unexpected phone call from Jelly, with the duo also sharing a heartfelt moment following the performance.
Jelly Roll is currently gearing up for his Beautifully Broken tour, which launches on August 27 in Salt Lake City, while Anne Wilson is preparing for her keenly anticipated REBEL Fall tour.
