He may have been performing in Atlantic City, New Jersey, but Jake Worthington transformed TidalWave Festival's beachside Next From Nashville stage into a bustling Forth Worth honky-tonk, with his dazzling array of Strait-esque fire-starters.

When assessing up-and-coming artists, suggesting a likeness to the ‘King of Country’ isn't something any of us do lightly. However, it feels appropriate when witnessing Jake Worthington delivering fan-favourites such as ’State You Left Me In’, which feels as though it's been pulled directly from the George Strait songbook.

Armed with his trusty guitar and distinctive ‘JDW’ strap, Jake Worthington is quickly garnering a reputation as the modern-day flag-bearer for traditional, 90's-inspired country music.

He flits seamlessly between the swaggering, steel-drenched ‘Only One Way To Find Out’ and his irresistibly raucous Hixtape cut, ‘Jonesin’’, which pays homage to another of Jake Worthington's Texas country forefathers, George Jones.

It feels like Worthington grows a little more confident with each high-profile performance, with the ‘Pop Goes The Whiskey’ songsmith having impressed during his set at CMA Fest earlier in the year.

More recently, he came into his own when he strode deservingly into the hallowed Grand Ole Opry circle, after being invited to make his debut by Marty Stuart.

Now, with this electrifying TidalWave set under his belt, it seems there's no stopping Jake Worthington as he continues his ascent towards the upper echelons of country music.

The 2023 edition of TidalWave is providing plenty of sizzling performances from some of country's biggest stars and fastest-rising newcomers as we celebrate the last days of summer.

After 2022's hell raising inaugural weekend, this year is racking up to once again be Atlantic City's new favourite country music festival, as we revel in performances from Jelly Roll, Hailey Whitters, Megan Moroney and Brooks & Dunn who'll take the stage throughout the three-day beach bash.
