Garth Brooks fans are convinced the country superstar is about to unveil a World Tour, a new album, a long-awaited all-streaming release for his catalogue or a Sphere Las Vegas residency, with a mysterious countdown on his website set to conclude on Tuesday, July 7th at 7am EST. But, alas, we suspect he might just be gearing up to announce the 7th instalment of his Anthology boxset series.

The fact that the countdown is ending ay 7am on 7/7 has us assuming Vegas is involved in some shape or form, given the apparent nod to ‘777’, which appears on slot machines.

The countdown is accompanied by the philosophical declaration that The Future is About to Become History, which led some fans to wonder if new music was on the horizon. But the phrase would also lend itself to a boxset charting one of the most illustrious periods in Garth's career. The Anthology Part VI dropped in November 2025, and included 2018 - 2023. We're wondering if The Anthology Part VII could potentially look at the most recent years in Garth's career.

Admittedly, this would only be two or three years, so perhaps the ‘777’ imagery is a tie-in with one of his recent Vegas residencies. His Plus/ONE residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, for instance, concluded in March 2025, so perhaps this latest boxset could be a series of recordings captured at those momentous shows.

Adding weight to this is the fact that Garth has previously released a limited edition 7-disc boxset called 777 Jackpot, which was linked to the first portion of his residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Maybe this new boxset, then, would feature photos from his more recent shows, as well as a series of new recordings.

Of course, it's possible we'll be proven wrong and Garth really does have a World Tour announcement a Sphere Las Vegas residency or a new album unveiling up his sleeve.

We certainly hope it's the latter, because in all honesty, this big countdown would feel like a lot of hype and excitement for a rather underwhelming bit of news if it really is just a new boxset. With Garth just performing to around 70,000 fans at BST Hyde Park, there's definitely an appetite for some more international dates, but given he waited 30 years between UK shows last time, we're not too confident. We'll know more at 7am on Tuesday, July 7th 2026 - watch this space.
