On the CMA Awards red carpet, Ian Munsick stopped to chat with Holler about his Western-drenched digs, his year of nonstop touring and an unexpected present from his superstar tourmate, Lainey Wilson.
Following her Country's Cool Again tour, on which Munsick acted as support, the 'Watermelon Moonshine' hitmaker gifted him the large belt buckle he wore on the carpet and something else much bigger.
"At the end of tour, Lainey gave me this buckle, but she handed me a piece of paper right after that," he shared just ahead of country music's biggest night of honors. He explained, thinking it was just a note, he opened the paper to reveal his actual end-of-tour gift from the superstar. "There's a picture of a four-wheeler on it."
When he questioned her about it, she apparently replied with a simple "vroom vroom." She had given him a four-wheeler. A "4x4 for U," if you will.
"She's like the nicest person ever," he added.
Wilson's Country's Cool Again tour has been accompanied by several treasured gifts. Another of the tour's openers, Jackson Dean, recently presented the show-runner with his own unique parting present.
He gifted Wilson a customized guitar, which he detailed with his intricate style of wood burning. Onto the body of the guitar, Dean personally etched a desert scene with two horses, an image inspired by Wilson's well-loved hit, 'Wildflowers and Wild Horses'.
Dean and Munsick, alongside Zach Top, joined Wilson on the 2023-2024 arena trek, supporting the star on and off for several months.
The Country's Cool Again tour officially wrapped in mid-November with a two-night hometown showcase at the Monroe Civic Center in Monroe, Louisiana, the closest city to the artist's native Baskin.
