Ian Munsick has built his career on "bringing the West to the rest," and that is especially present in his live shows.
The Wyoming native was first attracted to music through his family band, The Munsick Boys, and followed that passion to Nashville where he's been reimagining the Western part of Country & Western music.
At any given Ian Munsick show, fans can expect plenty of fiddle, which he's almost made the center point of his shows, as well as an onslaught of tunes from his stellar 2023 record, White Buffalo.
Usually opening his shows with the record's opening song, 'From the Horse's Mouth,' Munsick shows off several album cuts that serve as a breath of fresh Rocky Mountain air that transports listeners to the wide natural expanses of Wyoming.
Among the boot-stomping songs that fans can expect are 'Arrowhead,' 'River Run,' 'Cowshit in the Morning' and the feisty 'Barn Burner,' as well as some more intimate tracks like the loving 'Dig,' the glass-half-full 'Neon Brightside' and the dreamy title track.
Also a standard in an Ian Munsick setlist is his stampeding duet with Cody Johnson, 'Long Live Cowgirls,' as well as one-off dance jam, 'Cowboy Killer.'
For older Munsick fans, or those in the mood for a true downhome country throwdown, Munsick also plays several tracks from his 2021 full-length debut, Coyote Cry, including his award-winning breakout single, 'Long Haul;' 'I See Country,' 'Me Against the Mountain' and the R&B-laced 'Come Home to You.'
Munsick's sets all culminate to provide a killer two-part crescendo, taking the form of the rowdy 'Horses Are Faster' – his very first song – and the full-band jam affair of 'Mountain Time.'
Over the course of about two hours, Munsick delivers a performance unlike any from recent memory, showcasing his unique brand of artistry, raw talent and a type of connection with his fans that is truly awe-inspiring.
