Having had the time of her life on the European leg of her killer Whirlwind World Tour, Lainey Wilson has been taking some time to chat about her crazy life as one of the current Queens of Country Music.

Hanging out with some of the UK media during C2C 2025, she was asked about her relationship with Beyoncé, and Wilson’s answers couldn't have proved her sweet southern charm any better.

Earlier this year at the 2025 Grammy Awards, Wilson was up against some tough competition for the Best Country Album, with Post Malone’s F-1 Trillion, Kacey Musgraves’ Deeper Well, Chris Stapleton’s Higher and her own Whirlwind all being beat to the crown by Beyoncé’s landmark Cowboy Carter.

Yet, when asked whether there was any bitterness, Wilson said “Not for me at all,” and instead was desperate to tell the story of the two artists meeting. The way she sees it, even if she didn’t walk away with the Country Album of the Year trophy, she did walk away with a very sweet story.

“I walked up to her like 7 foot tall security guy and I’m like, ‘Can I meet her?’,” she shared with a laugh. Explaining that they both “share a deep appreciation for what each other does,” Wilson also commented on how Beyoncé’s impact on the country world has been overwhelming. “She’s introduced a lot of people to the country genre that maybe never even knew that they liked it,” the Louisiana native explained.

Between the music that the two of them have been releasing, Wilson couldn’t be more right when she said “country’s on fire right now.”

As she chatted to the UK show hosts, Wilson was a picture-perfect country cowgirl in her western shirt, cowboy hat and feather earrings, but above anything else, her genuine love and appreciation for the widening of the genre shone through.

“I’m doing this to play shows and put butts in seats and make people feel something,” she passionately offered, her love for country music clearly running deep and leaving nothing to question as to why the last few years have been a Whirlwind of success.

The Louisiana hitmaker has taken the country world by storm the last few years, but there's much more to her story than you might think.

The ‘Watermelon Moonshine’ singer, who just closed the European leg of her Whirlwind Tour with a packed-out show in Paris, is now heading back to the U.S. to continue the country fun throughout the summer.

Meanwhile, the ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM’ entertainer is heading the other way, bringing the Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitin' Circuit Tour to London with six nights at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in June.
