Morgan Wallen has shared a nostalgic One Night At A Time tour recap video across his socials, with the ‘Everything I Love’ hitmaker reflecting on a momentous couple of years.
The explosive, cinematic montage opens with footage of Morgan Wallen driving pensively down a backroad, presumably shot during his rest period following the end of the tour in October. This feels like the calm before the storm, as the video quickly transitions into clips of Wallen's electric, fiery concerts from the past two years.
The quality of these visuals, and the fact that Morgan Wallen has been sharing shorter highlights reels from shows throughout his One Night At A Time tour, has led some fans to think the Sneedville megastar is gearing up to release a documentary in 2025.
The wistful tone of Morgan Wallen's voice-over certainly feels like it has been taken from a broader story-arc, and given how many records and milestones the ‘Thought You Should Know’ crooner has achieved over the past two years, it's safe to say a documentary chronicling Wallen's blockbuster - and at times controversy-laden - ascent into one of the biggest artists on the planet would make for fantastic cinema.
In the newly shared video, Morgan Wallen touches on the fact that his One Night At A Time run was the highest-selling country tour of all time, “As I sit here just a few weeks removed from one of the largest country music tours in history, I still can't really find the words to say how much me being able to say that means - so thank you”.
Wallen expands, “You know, it doesn't seem all that long ago that I was meeting my band in the basement of the house, and playing music way too loud and pissing everybody off”.
The ‘Love Somebody’ chart-topper explains that he was “just trying to figure out if I had a voice”, before candidly admitting that he was questioning his abilities, “Over the span of almost ten years now, there were times in that period where I doubted myself, I doubted my voice, I doubted God's plan. You guys, my fans, have made it abundantly clear that you want to hear my voice and you do care about it”.
Morgan Wallen's stage persona is swaggering and oozes playful braggadocio, so it's eye-opening hear him confessing that there was a point when he wasn't sure if he had what it took.
Morgan Wallen concludes by paying tribute to a community that has never shared this doubt - his fans, with Wallen addressing his loyal listenership directly, “I just wanted you guys to know how much I appreciate that, and how much your support and just the passion for my music, for me as a person, how much it truly means”.
If you've had the good fortune of attending one - or perhaps more - of Morgan Wallen's One Night At A Time world tour, which has included stadium shows across the US and Canada, expansive UK dates and his first ever European run, then it's hard to watch this recap video and not feel emotional looking back at this game-changing period.
Although there have been a few missteps along the way, such as the notorious chair-throwing incident, which Morgan Wallen was sentenced for last week, Wallen's One Thing At A Time era has truly catapulted him into a whole new echelon. When ‘Last Night’ surged to the pinnacle of the Billboard Hot 100 for 16 weeks in 2023, it felt like a crazy, unthinkable feat for this small-town Tennessee boy.
Now, when Morgan Wallen is crowned Billboard's Top Male Artist of the Year across all genres, despite not releasing a new album in the past twelve months, it feels inevitable.
The One Thing At A Time era and its accompanying One Night At A Time world tour have cemented Morgan Wallen's status as one of the greats, leaving us rubbing our hands with glee at the prospect of seeing what Wallen's next chapter holds in 2025.
