“I Can't Wait”: Kenny Chesney Announces Momentous Las Vegas Sphere Residency, Starting in May 2025

After dropping a plethora of cryptic clues and tantalising teasers, Kenny Chesney has officially announced that he will be launching a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas this May.

The ‘No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems’ icon will become the first country artist to headline the immersive, multi-sensory venue, which has welcomed the likes of U2 and Phish in the past.

The day before Kenny Chesney's blockbuster announcement, which arrived live on-air during his appearance on the TODAY Show this morning (January 16th), the official Sphere in Las Vegas Instagram account teased the impending unveiling. The page posted a video of the Sphere, with its exterior showing waves crashing on a beach, before revealing Chesney's signature ‘Old Blue Chair’ sitting in the sand. Subsequent waves added a guitar and then a cowboy hat to the sun-soaked scene.

Speaking in tandem with the announcement, the multiple Entertainer of the Year winner has underlined how much he's looking forward to bringing his famously electrifying, energising live show to this unique space, “I’m always looking for ways to deepen the way No Shoes Nation experiences this music. Over the years, they have shown me through their own response to these songs how passionate they are about what they mean, how these songs are part of their lives. When people give you that much heart, I want to give them even more”.

Kenny Chesney expanded on some of the specific enhancements and effects that the Sphere will add to his already-spellbinding concerts, “When we started talking about all of the possibilities playing Sphere offered, I was all in. Just the idea of 4D technology and the impossibly dialed in sound raises the experience for No Shoes Nation, literally immersing them in music, visuals, sound and being together. To me, this is going to be a whole new way of rocking the fans, and I can’t wait”.

Thankfully, neither Kenny Chesney nor his loyal No Shoes Nation fanbase have too long before they can lose themselves in his joyful, island-inspired paradise at the Sphere.

Chesney's Live at Sphere Las Vegas residency kicks off on Thursday, May 22nd, with 12 dates planned so far. The momentous run of shows will conclude on Saturday, June 14th.

General ticket on-sale begins on Friday, January 31st at 10pm PT, with fans able to purchase passes via Kenny Chesney's official website. In addition, Vibee will be offering premium package tiers ahead of the general on-sale, with each option featuring a choice of premium tickets - including the coveted Sandbar (general admission floor) or reserved seating - a collectable laminate and lanyard, as well as  access to an immersive fan experience curated in partnership with Chesney.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the jubilant mantra of living life to its fullest that permeates his discography, Kenny Chesney leapt in with both feet and agreed to the proposed Las Vegas Sphere residency before even witnessing a concert there. Chesney excitedly recalls, “When we started talking, I flew to Vegas with my key tour team. We stood on the floor as they ran the film of U2’s show and we were completely consumed. We could see the band, but it was so much more than that. It almost took what they were doing and multiplied it by another dimension”.

The Tennessee native, who dropped his first studio album in four years in 2024, the widely lauded BORN, has emphasised how these Live at Sphere Las Vegas shows will transport his fans to the tropical, fun-loving universe of No Shoes Nation in a way that no other venue could feasibly achieve, “Knowing how much intensity our shows generate, my mind started thinking about all the things we could do. Once you see how the show wraps all the way around you, the dreaming begins”.

Kenny Chesney's Live at Sphere Las Vegas residency is presented by his beloved Blue Chair Bay Rum, and we're hoping their eclectic range of flavoured rum, rum creams and Caribbean cocktails will be on-sale at the Sphere throughout May and June.
