Hudson Westbrook has shared an acoustic rendition of Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem deep-cut, ‘Drinking Til It Does’, ahead of joining Wallen on his 2026 Still the Problem Tour.
Westbrook is due to open for the Sneedville megastar later this summer at Ann Arbor's Michigan Stadium and Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. Wallen's Still the Problem run has already established itself as one of the most popular country tours of the year, with the ‘Last Night’ hitmaker selling out some of the biggest venues in the US.
Westbrook's take on ‘Drinking Til It Does’ captures the raw emotion of the original, with Wallen singing against an uncharacteristically pared-down piano instrumental on the studio version. Westbrook croons wistfully alongside an acoustic guitar, with the ‘Painted You Pretty’ singer-songwriter showcasing his stellar vocals throughout.
The track follows a protagonist who finds himself staring forlornly into an empty whiskey glass, as he mourns the loss of a relationship. He laments the fact that drinking doesn't diminish his heartbreak - but he's determined to keep going until it does.
Penned by Jimmy Robbins and Josh Thompson, ‘Drinking Til It Does’ is by no means the most streamed or well-known song on Wallen's I'm the Problem, but it holds a special place in fans’ hearts. It's a prime example of Wallen demonstrating his evocative vocals, with the country titan's piano ballads - although few and far between - always feeling extra special, none more so than ’Sand in My Boots’.
We're hoping Westbrook comes out with Wallen during the latter's forthcoming shows, although we would caution that he most likely won't perform ’Drinking Til It Does’. Wallen has made a habit of bringing out his openers for a live-wire performance of ‘Up Down’, so we suspect this'll be the moment Westbrook makes his cameo.
