As the country music world pores over the star-studded 2025 ACM Awards ceremony in Frisco, Texas, Morgan Wallen continues to - somewhat amusingly - make a point of reminding everyone just how much he doesn't care about the country awards circuit.
Back in 2024, Wallen greeted the beginning of the ACM Awards ceremony by dropping a teaser of ‘Love Somebody’ on social media, taking the spotlight away from the show.
This time around, the Sneedville megastar shared a photo of him on the golf course with NFL legend, Tom Brady, in Northern Ireland, throwing around an American football.
The ’Thought You Should Know’ singer-songwriter accompanied the photo with the playful caption, “had a little mustard on it”, referring to the speed of Brady's throw.
It seems this is purely a recreational trip, with Wallen not having any shows lined up in Northern Ireland. He is due to perform a one-night-only concert in London later in the month, following his Sand in My Boots Festival next weekend.
The duo were playing at the renowned Royal County Down Golf Club in Belfast, with the club's general manager, Bill Donald, praising Morgan Wallen and Tom Brady's warm and outgoing attitude towards staff and fans in an interview with the Belfast Telegraph.
Donald gushed, “I can honestly say they were real people people. It was very low-key — that’s what we like. They came to enjoy the club and the course with the facilities...They extended the hand of friendship to a lot of the staff, to the members or guests that they were around. They were very sociable...I can see why they are such good personalities and talked about in such high regard. Because they were such good people. [Their] management skills were absolutely fantastic”.
He went on to touch on Brady's successful round, “They wanted to talk about the course and how they played. Tom birdied in the last 18th and he was delighted about that. Then off they went. They had spent some time chatting to the staff in the shop and some of the guests as well as members who happened to be around.”
Morgan Wallen and Tom Brady have been pals for a while now, with the latter joining Wallen for his Las Vegas pre-show walk-out last year. Brady also shared his approval when Wallen released an acoustic version of ‘Just in Case’, commenting, “LFGGG”.
In all honesty, although it causes a stir each time, you can't really blame Wallen for failing to attend the ACM Awards, with the ‘Last Night’ chart-topper not being given any accolades during the evening, despite another blockbuster, record-breaking year.
The country titan is currently gearing up to drop his eagerly anticipated fourth studio album, I'm the Problem, next Friday (May 16th), which coincides with the opening day of Morgan Wallen's inaugural Sand in My Boots Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
