This is what it feels like when your parents let you open one of your presents a day early on Christmas Eve. Just one though. You’ll have to wait until tomorrow for the rest.

Everyone’s favourite country crooner, Mason Ramsey releases his debut album, I’ll See You In My Dreams, tomorrow morning, but you don’t have to wait that long to get the party started. We’ve got an exclusive premiere of the brilliant ‘Cowboys Always Come Home’ for you to listen to on Holler today.

Taking his inspiration from icons like Elvis, Hank Williams, Jim Croce, and Roy Orbison, the Atlantic Records troubadour co-wrote every song on his new album with the project’s producer, Dan Fernandez and like the rest of the record, the new song showcases the rich countrypolitan sound that makes up I’ll See You In My Dreams.

"I wrote this song with my producer, Dan Fernandez, and I wanted to write something that paid tribute to the consistency of a cowboy,” Mason told us. “The imagery we created is meant to represent what makes a cowboy unique - you can always count on them to work hard, love family and faith, and come home at the end of the day. While my grandpa wasn't an actual cowboy, the way he lives life and loves his family reminds me of a cowboy, and that's what we tried to capture with this song."

It feels like it’s been a slow, steady journey from his viral debut in Walmart several years ago to the smooth, classic country and honky-tonk sound of his debut album, but it just goes to prove that old adage that slow and steady always wins the race.

"This album has been a long time coming, and I'm excited for fans to hear it,” Mason told us. “It was great working with Dan Fernandez, who co-wrote each song with me and also produced the album. He really helped me hone my sound for, what I'm calling, my coming-of-age album. It's my debut full length project, so it's everyone's chance to hear who I am as an artist. I've always loved listening to the greats like Roy Orbison, Hank Williams, Jim Croce and Johnny Cash... I'm an old soul, and that can be heard in this album."

Listen to ‘Cowboys Always Come Home’ below.

As the youngest major label country artist signed in the genre in nearly two decades, Ramsey continues his fast-track to stardom with his debut album featuring the single ‘Blue Over You,’ which has amassed over 18 million streams on Spotify alone since it’s February release.

I’ll See You In My Dreams is available from 20th September on Atlantic
