Eric Church took to the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida yesterday (2/7) to perform the National Anthem at Super Bowl LV.

Church, otherwise known as The Chief, took to the field to sing the 'Star Spangled Banner' alongside R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan, before the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicked off the 55th Super Bowl game.

The unique duet began with Church singing first, accompanied only by himself on guitar, while Sullivan, dressed in a white jumpsuit with a glittery head piece, joined in unison as fireworks burst in the sky overhead.

As they closed the anthem in harmony with one another, three USAF Bombers took part in a flypast.

Church admitted in a recent interview that he had always shied away from singing the vocally challenging national anthem, stating “I’m a stylist, not a vocalist”.

However, that all changed once he heard the arrangement from Adam Blackstone, who had specifically requested that Church and Sullivan perform it together.

Church has had a busy weekend, sharing another new song from his forthcoming triple album ‘Heart & Soul’ on Friday.

The song, called ‘Lynyrd Skynyrd Jones’, discusses family and the passing of time; the ballad is full of classic rock references too.

‘Heart’ - the first of Church’s three upcoming albums - will be released on April 16th. Listen to 'Lynyrd Skynyrd Jones' below.
