Ella Langley and Tucker Wetmore: A Complete Timeline of Their Rumoured Relationship

Tucker Wetmore may have finally found his brunette.

After months of speculation, multiple sources have reportedly confirmed that Wetmore and Ella Langley are dating, after the pair were spotted leaving the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville together (albeit VERY briefly) on 22nd September.

Langley was there to celebrate another momentous night in her career as she was awarded Song of the Year at the Nashville Songwriter Awards, in the same week that 'Choosin' Texas' surpassed Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' to become the longest-running No. 1 single in Billboard Hot 100 history, spending a record-breaking 23 weeks at the top.

TMZ reported that the pair have been seeing each other for “quite some time”, having met through the music industry and mutual friends, while PEOPLE has also reported that multiple sources confirmed the pair are dating. Neither Langley nor Wetmore has personally commented on the reports.

But anyone who has been paying close attention to Langley and Wetmore this year will be aware that the rumours surrounding the pair actually started much earlier than this sudden revelation.

December 2025: The British Virgin Islands

In December 2025, Langley and Wetmore were photographed together in the British Virgin Islands. At the time, suggestions arose that the trip was a writing retreat. Given other country artists were there too, and Nashville musicians ending up on the same writing trip is not unusual, there wasn't necessarily anything to see here.

Things started to look slightly more interesting as the months went on.

It's also worth noting that Langley was linked to Farmer Wants a Wife star John Sansone around the same period. Sansone later confirmed that he and Langley had dated for “a couple of months”, meaning there's certainly no basis for retrospectively deciding that Langley and Wetmore were already dating during the BVI trip.

Early 2026: The Suspiciously Well-Timed 'Sunburn'

Then came 'Sunburn', and suddenly fans had something else to work with. Wetmore's song tells the story of a trip that lasts considerably longer than planned after meeting someone he doesn't really want to leave behind.

Given Wetmore had only recently been photographed away in the islands with Langley, fans started joining a few dots. The only problem with the theory is that Wetmore didn't actually write the song.

'Sunburn' was written by Daniel Ross, Ryan Hurd and Jaxson Free, with Wetmore explaining that it was sent to him while he was away in the BVIs. So while the timing is almost suspiciously good, there is no real basis for suggesting it was written about Langley.

March 2026: Ella Joins Tucker for 'Sunburn'

The speculation didn't exactly disappear when Langley later joined Wetmore for an acoustic performance of 'Sunburn' at Heart Strings for Hope in Chattanooga on March 10.

Wetmore was actually previewing the song ahead of its official release just three days later, with Langley joining him for the stripped-back performance and adding harmonies.

Given the rumours already surrounding the pair, and the fact fans had begun linking the song's island romance to their own trip to the British Virgin Islands just a few months earlier, it inevitably gave people another reason to start joining the dots.

At the time, though, it was simply two country artists singing together. In hindsight, moments like this can look a little different now.

Then there is, of course, 'Brunette'.

BUT, Wetmore didn't write that song either.

He has, however, joked about how well its premise fits his own dating history and earlier this year recalled his mum telling him, “You're going to mess around with blondes for a little while but I truly believe you're going to settle down with the brunette.”

His response?

“Yeah, 100%.”

May 2026: Tucker's Mum Might Have Called it

Then there is, of course, 'Brunette'.

The song had already been released in 2025, long before any serious speculation surrounding Wetmore and Langley, and, just like 'Sunburn', Wetmore didn't actually write it. But while discussing the song with Audacy in May 2026, Wetmore joked about just how well its premise happened to fit his own dating history.

“My mom's always said, ‘You're going to mess around with blondes for a little while but I truly believe you're going to settle down with the brunette,’” Wetmore recalled.

His response?

“Yeah, 100%.”

At the time, it was simply a funny coincidence between a song Wetmore had recorded and his mum's prediction about his love life. A few months later, with Wetmore now reportedly dating Ella Langley, arguably THE certain brunette, it's aged rather well.

The Nashville “Relationship” Web

There is also a typical “only in Nashville” connection running through all of this.

Wetmore previously dated Bryana Ferringer, who appeared in the music video for 'Wind Up Missin' You'. Following their split, Ferringer attended the 2025 CMA Awards with Riley Green, who had spent much of the previous year being romantically linked to Langley after the enormous success of 'you look like you love me'.

Langley and Green repeatedly insisted they were simply friends, while Green later described Ferringer as a friend too, meaning the more dramatic online version that Riley Green somehow “stole” Tucker Wetmore's girlfriend is just that: online speculation.

Still, if nothing else, it is further proof that Nashville can feel like a very small town.

September 2026: Ella and Tucker Are Spotted Together in Nashville

Which brings us back to September 22.

Wetmore and Langley were spotted leaving the Nashville Songwriter Awards together through a side door at the Ryman Auditorium, before leaving together in a car.

A day later, TMZ reported that the pair had actually been dating for “quite some time”, with sources saying they had met through the music industry and mutual friends. PEOPLE subsequently reported that multiple sources had also confirmed the pair were dating.

Langley has already had years of people analysing almost every interaction between her and Green, despite both of them saying there was nothing romantic going on, so hopefully this time there can be a little more room left for two people to simply enjoy whatever they have found without social media treating everything as another piece of evidence.

If Langley and Wetmore have managed to quietly build something together while both of their careers have been moving at an extraordinary pace, then we couldn't be happier for them. Neither owes anyone the exact timeline, the first date story or an explanation of which songs may or may not mean what.

So yes, country fans might feel they are entitled to enjoy the exciting news, whilst every Ella Fella's heart is officially smashed to smithereens.

Hopefully everyone gives them a bit of space and lets whatever this is have the best possible chance.

As for Tucker, his mum might just have called it years ago.
