Ahead of his captivating performance on the Holler Stage at C2C Berlin 2025, Max McNown revealed that he'll be expanding his lauded January record, Night Diving, into a double-album.
The ‘A Lot More Free’ hitmaker confirmed during his pre-show on-stage interview with Ross Jones, Holler's Editor, that his brand new single, ‘Call Me If You Miss Me‘, serves as the tantalising first song from the second half of his Night Diving album.
Excitingly, the Oregon prodigy explained that he's been sat on a number of these forthcoming tracks for some time now, “‘Call Me If You Miss Me’, for example, was actually the third song written during the Night Diving album [sessions]. So it was written very early, and I've saved it specifically because I feel like it's a special song”.
The ‘Brown Eyes (Better Me For You)’ singer-songwriter went on, “I wanted to give it its own time, and so that's kind of the way things worked out. But all the songs on Night Diving - including this next space that we're entering into - were written from kind of the same era, I would say. That's how I like to group my pieces of work”.
Max McNown outlined how this second portion of Night Diving will feature eleven songs in total, including ‘Call Me If You Miss Me’, which arrived today (Friday, March 7th).
Given how emotionally rich and layered Night Diving was, with Max McNown flitting between the warm, rose-tinted ambience of ‘Marley’ and ‘Brown Eyes (Better Me For You)’ and the frostier, heartbroken feel of ‘Love I Couldn't Mend’ and the title-track, we can't wait to hear what McNown has up his sleeve for the next instalment.
Following his discussion with Holler, Max McNown serenaded the packed-out audience at C2C Berlin's Holler Stage with a range of beloved fan-favourites, along with a special, enchanting live rendition of ‘Call Me If You Miss Me’ on the song's release date.
