During her recent Am I Okay? Tour-stop, Megan Moroney appeared to address those long-rumbling Riley Green dating rumours - and potentially now break-up rumours - as the ‘Tennessee Orange’ singer-songwriter responded to a fan wearing a Riley t-shirt.
Earlier in June, Megan Moroney commented on a TikTok video which found a fan donning a Riley Green tee with the words ‘Hoochie Daddy’ emblazoned across it, “Need the shirt”.
Another follower decided to run with that tongue-in-cheek comment and bought one of those Riley Hoochie Daddy t-shirts. Amazingly, the fan - Ava - was right at the front of the stage, and while Megan Moroney performed her I-don't-need-you anthem, ‘Indifferent’, Moroney spotted the Riley t-shirt, and mouthed, “He f***ed up!”
Bizarrely, also at the weekend, Ella Langley winked at a fan during her show that was holding up a sign saying, “Wink if Riley's a Dumb Ass”. Langley and Riley Green then took to the comments on Instagram to seemingly underline this was just a joke, with the former quipping, “Bro, my bangs were totally in my eye”. Green hilariously shared, “She must have thought it said “wink if Riley is a great dancer””.
Back in May, Megan Moroney and Riley Green were spotted driving around the latter's home-state in an old car, and around the same time, they were videoed leaving an airport together.
Dating rumours have been swirling around the two for months, after they both shared Instagram Stories from the US Virgin Islands. Fan-theories then started suggesting that the once-radiant on-stage chemistry between Ella Langley and Riley Green had evaporated, with some speculating that there was tension because of Moroney.
It's still all rumours and conjecture, and it all really started with fans simply wanting to believe the love-story in Langley and Green's viral hit, ‘You Look Like You Love Me’.
Now, with Megan Moroney apparently suggesting Riley Green “f***ed up” in some shape or form, and with Moroney also gearing up to release a stellar new post-break-up earworm, ‘Six Months Later’, on Friday (June 20th) fans will be attempting to decipher the lyrics and see if there are any veiled digs at Green in the new track.
