Dasha has delivered a high-energy performance of her viral hit, ‘Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)’, during a rain-hampered 2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
The fast-emerging country artist offered up one of the many highlights of Thanksgiving extravaganza, which has been a beloved holiday tradition in the US since 1924.
Fans had spotted Dasha rehearsing for the momentous occasion earlier in the week, with TikTok videos emerging of the ‘Didn't I’ singer-songwriter practising the choreography for the performance. Surrounded by an army of backing dancers, Dasha rattled through the infectious track while atop the Spirit of America ‘Big City Cheer’ float.
A number of viewers have taken to social media to give the high praise of likening Dasha's performance to that of Taylor Swift, due to the up-and-coming artist's ability to pen earworm hooks while lacing deeply evocative, powerful lyricism into her music.

Unfortunately, it really did literally rain on Dasha's parade, but despite the poor weather conditions, Dasha powered on courageously through her performance. The wet weather meant that she accidentally smeared her red lipstick around her mouth with her microphone though.
Viewers were quick to pick up on the make-up malfunction on social media, with many taking to Instagram and TikTok to point out the mishap. Dasha made light of the moment though, taking to the platform to react to the beauty slip-up.
“Today i learned a lesson about performing in the rain,” she wrote alongside of a greenscreen video of her performance.
Elsewhere during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, viewers were treated to performances from the likes of Dan + Shay, Idina Menzel, Kylie Minogue, Rachel Platten, Walker Hayes, The War and Treaty, T-Pain, Jennifer Hudson and Jimmy Fallon and The Roots.
Despite the weather's best attempts to ‘rain on their parade’, the event was pervaded by its typical ambience of warmth and familiarity, with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade remaining one of the most eagerly anticipated parts of the holiday each year.
The organisers’ decision to recruit Dasha to perform at the national event highlights just how quickly the ‘Heartbreaker From Tennessee’ prodigy has risen into country music's upper echelon. Dasha is believed to be working on her keenly awaited follow-up to 2024's What Happens Now? (Deluxe), which is expected to drop in 2025 - and after her Thanksgiving set, the sense of anticipation is sky-high.
