Conner Smith has spent an impressive third nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on the UK Radio Country Airplay Chart, with his much-loved hit, ’Creek Will Rise’, retaining the top spot.
‘Creek Will Rise‘ notched the first ever No. 1 on the chart on March 10, before Cody Johnson usurped Conner Smith's fiddle-infused anthem with ‘The Painter’ the following week. Then, ‘Creek Will Rise’ returned to the pinnacle on March 22, with the track remaining at No. 1 on this week's frame (March 22 - 28).
The UK Radio Country Airplay Chart rankings are based on the total amount of people hearing the songs on the radio, therefore taking into account the listenership of each outlet, rather than focussing solely on the number of plays.
This week, ‘Creek Will Rise’ has picked up a staggering 767,065 impressions, up 15% from the previous frame. Next week, Conner Smith will face another challenge from Warren Zeiders’ gravelly, fiery reflection on temptation, ‘Pretty Little Poison’, which sits at No. 2 with 699,359 impressions for the week.
At No. 3 is Kane Brown's infectious ’I Can Feel It’, which cleverly interpolates Phil Collins’ iconic ‘In The Air Tonight’. ‘I Can Feel It’ is the lead single from Kane's eagerly awaited new album, which is expected to arrive later this year.
Completing the Top 5 is Cody's ‘The Painter’ at No. 4 and Jordan Davis’ ‘Tucson Too Late’ at No. 5. The biggest mover this week is Chris Young's ‘Young Love & Saturday Nights’, which breaks into the Top 50 with an 829% increase in impressions.
Another notable riser is Dasha's viral single, ‘Austin’, which has spread like wildfire across TikTok and has established the fast-emerging artist as a future star of the genre. ‘Austin’ lands at No. 19 on the UK Radio Country Airplay Chart, with the beat-driven earworm enjoying a 148% surge in impressions in this frame.
