During his 2024 CMA Fest Close-Up Stage chat with Cody Alan, Cody Johnson delved into a range of topics, ranging from how his children act on the road to his recent album, Leather.
In addition, the ‘Dirt Cheap’ hitmaker revealed he has a new clothing line launching later this year in partnership with Wrangler, with CoJo explaining what makes this range unique.
“Those are our business partners”, he shared, “This is not a [case of] ‘they're paying me a bunch of money to say their name’. I wanted to design shirts, shirts that the common person can buy at a decent price-point that doesn't break the bank, but when you put it on, the thread-count and the way that it's cut makes you feel like a million bucks”.
Cody Johnson went on to emphasise how he's crafted these pieces with a meticulous attention to detail, “You can dress these shirts up, you can dress them down. Every fabric, every pattern is personally designed by me. The buttons are hideaway buttons on purpose, I like that. They're cut a little short...isn't it the worst when you put on a shirt and you try to tuck it in, and all of a sudden it's like down to here inside your pants?...I feel like I'm wearing a diaper. They're cut perfectly where you can just tuck them in below the waistline, they won't ride up”.
Excitingly, fans will only have to wait a few months before they'll be able to shop Cody Johnson's Wrangler collaboration, with the 2024 CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee confirming the current release rollout plans, “We have a Fall line coming out, and then we have a Spring line coming out at all your Western stores”.
Hopefully, CoJo will have released his Leather sequel ahead of the first Wrangler drop, with the chart-topping artist confirming last year the project will be a double-album.
