Chris Stapleton's celebrated 2017 song, ‘Millionaire’, has been RIAA certified three-times Platinum, in recognition of the track amassing the equivalent of three million units.
‘Millionaire’ was one of the many highlights on Stapleton's acclaimed From A Room: Volume 2 project, which also spawned fan-favourites such as ‘Midnight Train to Memphis’ and ‘Hard Livin’’.
Similarly to the Kentucky crooner's most widely recognised hit, ‘Tennesee Whiskey’, ‘Millionaire’ is a cover of a classic country track penned by Kevin Welch in 2002.
Nonetheless, as always, Chris Stapleton makes the song his own, and ‘Millionaire’ has remained a staple of the chart-topping singer-songwriter's setlist throughout the past few years.
Stapleton's latest accolade is undoubtedly impressive, but it's safe to say ‘Millionaire’ has a way to go before it emulates the staggering streaming success of ’Tennessee Whiskey’, which was certified fourteen-times Platinum in April.
Chris Stapleton is currently readying another album's worth of potential chart-toppers, with the country megastar's new project, Higher, due to be released on November 10 2023.
