Chris Stapleton and Dua Lipa have made their surprise live performance of ‘Think I'm In Love with You’ from the 2024 ACM Awards available to stream on all platforms.
When Chris Stapleton was announced as the next performer of the evening, Dua Lipa was greeted by a sea of screams and cheers as the spotlight illuminated her instead of the bearded crooner. Dua delivered a new introduction to the simmering, uptempo track, before Stapleton entered the fray and the two megastars traded lines back and forth, creating one of the highlights of the ceremony.
Given Chris Stapleton and Dua Lipa's status as two of the biggest artists in modern music, fans relished the chance to witness their worlds collide on the Ford Center stage last week.
Now, following calls for the duet to be released onto streaming services, Stapleton and Dua have thankfully obliged, making the live collaboration available on all platforms. It'll no doubt offer a welcome boost to ‘Think I'm In Love with You’s ascent up the Country Radio charts, with the track set to follow in the footsteps of ‘White Horse’, which became Stapleton's fourth No. 1 as an artist in January.
Following their performance, Dua and Stapleton stopped by for a chat with Bobby Bones to discuss how the duet came about. Dua shared, “Well, we really got together like two days ago to rehearse for this. But we've been talking about this for a little while”.
Stapleton revealed that Dua instigated the link-up, before the ‘New Rules’ hitmaker confirmed, “It was my idea, I'm such a fan of Chris’, and I kind of just reached out and was like, ‘Hey, do you want to do something together?’ and this came about”.
Dua humbly underlined that she was “1000%” in awe of Stapleton's voice, before emphasising, “I feel so lucky to have been in Chris and Morgane's orbit for a few days to just dive into the musicality of everything, it's just been wonderful”.
Chris Stapleton then echoed her sentiments by dubbing Dua Lipa the “Queen of feel-good music”, and outlining that it was therefore a no-brainer to join forces for her for the 2024 ACM Awards performance because “we want to make people feel good!”
Dua's ACM appearance arrived a couple of weeks after she dropped her keenly awaited new album, Radical Optimism, which has spawned hits such as ‘Illusion’ and ‘Training Season’.
