There's an amusing moment in Morgan Wallen's 2023 interview with comedian, Caleb Pressley, when Wallen tells Pressley how many tracks he's included on his third studio record, One Thing At A Time, before a bemused Pressley quips, “You have 36 songs on your new album? You're never gonna hear the end of it...at least we won't!”

Lengthy tracklists have become one of the staples of Morgan Wallen's discography, with 2021's Dangerous: The Double Album consisting of 30 and One Thing At A Time taking this a step further with 36. Now, it looks like the Sneedville megastar is doubling down on this approach with his fourth album, I'm the Problem.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, the ‘Last Night’ chart-topper has shared a black-and-white photo of him seemingly finalising the tracklist for the eagerly anticipated record.

Virtually all the titles, except two already-released singles, ‘I'm the Problem’ and ‘Love Somebody’, are blanked out, but judging by the number of cards he has up on the drawing board, it looks like the current tracklist is sitting at a sprawling 37 songs long. ‘I'm the Problem’ dropped on Friday (January 31st), with the sparse, long-teased ode surging straight to the No. 1 spot on Apple Music's all-genre chart.

Looking at the photo, to the left of Morgan Wallen's head are four columns of songs plus one more track, and if we assume the column obscured by his silhouette is the same length as the others, then it seems I'm the Problem is 37 strong at present.

It appears there are 13 offerings lined up on the right of Wallen, which we assume are the tracks that have been discarded from the official I'm the Problem tracklist for now.

This would make sense, as it would mean the ‘Thought You Should Know’ singer-songwriter has recorded a shortlist of 50 candidates which he's narrowing down.

If he does opt for 37 songs for I'm the Problem, this would mark Morgan Wallen's longest album to date. Of course, Wallen's caption of “Chopping block” suggests he's still honing the tracklist, and there may be more cutting and adjusting yet to come.

Interestingly, there's no sign of ’Smile’ or ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’ on the I'm the Problem tracklist, but we imagine - and hope - these will both be featuring on the final project.

Despite the finished I'm the Problem tracklist not being confirmed for the time being, some fans are already mourning the apparent loss of those 13 tracks on the right of Wallen's new photo. If he's recorded them, it's safe to say listeners would love to hear them, perhaps as part of an expanded deluxe version of I'm the Problem down the line.

Regardless, it feels as though the rollout for I'm the Problem is accelerating, and we're keeping our fingers crossed Morgan Wallen is plotting to continue his penchant for numerically significant release dates by dropping the project - his fourth record - on 4/4.
