Despite tickets only going on-sale this week, Morgan Wallen's blockbuster 2025 I'm the Problem run is already shaping up to be one of the most popular tours of the year.

Featuring support from a blend of established, big-name acts and the genre's next wave of future stars, Wallen's I'm the Problem Tour will be an unmissable summer event for country fans. One of the openers for the Sneedville chart-topper's Seattle, Washington and Santa Clara, California shows, Anne Wilson, speaks to Holler about how excited she is to be joining up with the ‘You Proof’ hitmaker this July and August.

Aside from presenting an opportunity to perform in front of football stadiums packed with around 70,000 attendees at a time, Anne Wilson emphasises that her keenness to open for Morgan Wallen stems from a deep-seated appreciation for his music.

The ‘Rain in the Rearview’ singer-songwriter explains, “Morgan Wallen is by far my favorite artist of all time, so opening for him is an honor”, before reflecting on how the 2024 CMA Entertainer of the Year impacted the creation of her sophomore album, REBEL.

Wilson highlights how she kept the vulnerability that pervades Morgan Wallen's catalogue, as well as his striking composition style, in mind when crafting her widely lauded project, “Morgan’s music was inspirational for me during the writing process of REBEL”.

The trailblazing Country and Christian genre-blender expands, “His honest lyrics met with the incredible production inspired me to dig deep into my record and the creation of it”.

Anne Wilson continues to carve out her own lane in Nashville, with the Kentucky native amassing a loyal following courtesy of a sound that straddles Contemporary Christian and Classic Country. Those that have been fans from Day One, when Wilson went viral off the back of a heartrending performance of ‘What a Beautiful Name’ at her brother Jacob's funeral in 2017, will be bursting with pride knowing she'll soon be showcasing her faith-filled odes in front of swathes of new listeners.

Anne Wilson's 2024 project, REBEL, found the fast-emerging prodigy leaning more into her country roots, compared to the strictly Christian ambience of her debut album, My Jesus.

Anne Wilson's second record has spawned numerous fan-favorites, such as the galvanising, uplifting anthems, ‘God and Country’ and ‘Songs About Whiskey’, and the beautifully intricate ballads, ‘Milestones’ and ‘Dirt Roads in Heaven’. This powerful fusion of Country and Christian textures feels seamless, with Wilson lacing every lyric with a sense of enchanting sincerity and captivating warmth, consolidating the up-and-coming artist as an innovative force to be reckoned with.

Although Morgan Wallen is seen as being situated more firmly in the country scene, Wallen regularly explores themes of faith and spirituality, epitomised by the soul-baring ‘Don't Think Jesus’ and ‘Outlook’. During his record-breaking One Night At A Time World Tour, Wallen would frequently bring out Larry Fleet during his headline set to deliver spellbinding renditions of the latter's ‘Where I Find God’, which the ‘Last Night’ chart titan has previously cited as one of his favorite songs.

We're hoping Morgan Wallen invites Anne Wilson on-stage in Seattle or Santa Clara - or both - to duet one of Wallen's hits, or perhaps a Wilson fan-favorite, such as ‘My Jesus’. If Wilson had her way, we imagine she would choose Wallen's surprise New Year's Eve release, ‘Smile’, which she praises as her “favorite song by Morgan”.

When ‘Smile’ was first teased last August, Anne Wilson took to her Instagram Stories to endearingly gush, “Gosh nobody is as good as you. I'm not even kidding when I say I just cried listening to this...I just gotta say Morgan Wallen is a one of a kind talent”.

One thing is for sure, these shows are set to be momentous occasions for everyone involved, with Anne Wilson concluding by emphasising once again how much she's looking forward to these four dates, “I am thrilled to be opening for Morgan Wallen this summer. We’re putting together a set that will be full of energy and fun!”

In a new video uploaded to socials, Anne Wilson has added a further setlist teaser, outlining that she'll be treating the Seattle and Santa Clara audiences to some “brand new songs”. This hopefully means Wilson is working on her eagerly anticipated REBEL follow-up album, and we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for any tantalising snippets, demos and live debuts she decides to share in the near future.
